The song was written by the Soft Cell members, Marc Almond and David Ball. “Bedsitter” was released as the second single from their debut album “Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret”. The single was released in November 1981 with “Facility Girls” on the B-side. It peaked at #4 on the UK singles chart.
