The song was written by Pet Shop Boys members, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. “Nothing Has Been Proved” was written for the Michael Caton-Jones’ film “Scandal”. In 1990, the song was also included on Springfield’s thirteenth studio album “Reputation”. The single was released in February 1989 with the instrumental version of the song on the B-side. It peaked at #10 in Ireland and at #16 in the Official UK singles chart.
