The song was written by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, along with Abbba manager Stig Anderson. “SOS ” was released as the single from ABBA’s self-titled third studio album (second internationally). The single was released in June 1975 with “Man in the Middle” on the B-side. It topped the singles charts in many countries, including Australia, Germany and South Africa. In the UK, it peaked at #6.
