The song was written by Abba members, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. “Summer Night City” was released as the lead single from Abba’s compilation album, “Greatest Hits Vol. 2”. It was released in September 1978 with “Medley” on the B-side. It reached #1 on Eurochart Hot 100, in Sweden, Ireland, and Finland. In the UK, it peaked at #5.
