The song was written by Yazoo member and ex-Depeche Mode member, Vince Clarce. “Only You” was released as the lead single from Yazoo’s debut album, “Upstairs at Eric’s”. The single was released in March 1982 with “Situation” on the B-side. Yazoo’s first single (Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet) released in March 1982. The single peaked at #2 on the Official UK Singles chart.
