Front 242 – Headhunter – Official Music Video.  The single byBelgian electronic music group was released as the first single from the band’s 1988 album Front By Front (the album contains two versions – Version 1.0 and Version 3.0).  “Headhunter” reached number 13 in the Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart in the United States. The music video was directed by Anton Corbijn.

American singer and songwriter Aretha Franklin was born. In 1987, her duet with George Michael, "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" topped the singles charts in the UK and US.  Aretha Franklin died of cancer on August 16, 2018 in Detroit at the age of 76.


 
1947 Elton John

Sir Elton John (Reginald Kenneth Dwight) was born. He had seven numbers ones in the UK and nine in the US.  His tribute single "Candle in the Wind 1997" sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts.
