Swedish singer-songwriter Marie Fredriksson was born. She is best known as a member of pop duo Roxette. In the 80's they released four successful singles from their second studio album, "Look Sharp!": "The Look", "Dressed for Success", "Listen to Your Heart", and "Dangerous". Marie died on 9 December 2019 following a 17-year battle with cancer at the age of 61.

Stephen Tin Tin Duffy English musician, singer and songwriter Stephen Duffy was born. He was a founding member, vocalist, bassist and then drummer of Duran Duran. In 1985, he reached #4 in the UK with "Kiss Me", the single from his debut album, "The Ups and Downs".
