“Getting Away With It” is a song by the English supergroup Electronic, which consisted of Bernard Sumner (the lead singer of New Order), Johnny Marr (the former guitarist of The Smiths), and Neil Tennant (the lead singer of Pet Shop Boys). It was released in December 1989 with “Lucky Bag” on the B-side. In May 1991, the song was included on Electronic’s self-titled debut album.
It was written and produced by Sumner, Marr, and Tennant, and produced by Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr. The lyrics of the song explore themes of regret and disillusionment, with the narrator reflecting on a failed relationship and trying to move on.
