Simply Red’s cover was released as their debut single in March 1985 with “(Open Up the) Red Box” on the B-side. “Money’s Too Tight (To Mention)” is included on their debut album, “Picture Book” (released in October 1985). The single reached #2 on Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the United States. In the UK, it peaked at #13.
