American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer Stevie Wonder (Stevland Hardaway Morris) was born. During the 80's he had two no. 1 singles in the United States: "I Just Called to Say I Love You" (1984), "Part-Time Lover" (1985). He also topped the chart with "That's What Friends Are For" (Dionne Warwick and Friends) in 1985.


 
1954 Johnny Logan

Australian-born Irish singer and composer Johnny Logan was born. He is the only performer to have won the Eurovision Song Contest twice, in 1980 ("What's Another Year") and 1987 ("Hold Me Now"). Logan also composed Linda Martin's "Why Me?", the winning song in 1992.
