American singer Diana Ross was born. Diana rose to fame as the lead singer of the vocal group The Supremes. During the 80's she had two number one hits in the US: "Upside Down" (1980), and "Endless Love" (duet with Lionel Richie) in 1981.


 
1948 Steven Tyler

American singer-songwriter Steven Tyler (Steven Victor Tallarico) was born. He is best known as a lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith. In the 80's the band had three top ten singles in the US: "Angel" (1988), "Love in an Elevator", and "Janie's Got a Gun" (1989).
