The song was written by the band frontman Dr. Robert (born Bruce Robert Howard). It was released as the lead single from The Blow Monkeys’ third album “She Was Only a Grocer’s Daughter”. The single was released in January 1987 with “Ask For More” on the B-side. It reached #5 in the UK singles chart and a#8 in Spain.
