Samantha Fox

Samantha Fox — pop provocateur, Page 3 legend, and one of the most photographed women of the 1980s — was born on April 15, 1966, in Mile End, London. With her bold charisma and unforgettable hits, she became a defining figure of the decade, blending Italo-tinged dance-pop, tabloid stardom, and a fearless sense of fun.

Her rise began at just 16, when her mother submitted photos to a modeling contest. That led to her debut as a Page 3 girl in The Sun in 1983 — and she quickly became a national sensation, winning “Page 3 Girl of the Year” three years in a row. But Samantha had bigger plans than just pin-up fame.

In 1986, she made the leap into music with her debut single “Touch Me (I Want Your Body)”, which exploded onto the charts — No. 1 in 17 countries, No. 3 in the UK, and No. 4 in the U.S.. Her debut album Touch Me went gold, and she followed it with a string of international hits like “Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me)”, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now”, “Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)”, and “I Wanna Have Some Fun.”

By the end of the ’80s, Samantha had racked up three Top 10 hits in both the UK and U.S., three gold albums, and a reputation as a pop powerhouse with serious staying power. She was nominated for Best British Female Solo Artist at the 1988 Brit Awards, and her music videos were MTV staples.

But she didn’t stop at music. Samantha appeared in films (Fratelli d’Italia, Hells Bells), hosted TV shows, and even co-presented the 1989 Brit Awards with Mick Fleetwood — a famously chaotic moment in live TV history. She also dabbled in reality TV (Celebrity Big Brother, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!) and launched her own record label.

In the 2000s and beyond, she continued to tour, release new music (including Angel with an Attitude and 21st Century Fox), and collaborate with artists like Günther, DJ Milano, and Nestor. She also released a duet with Sabrina Salerno — a cover of Blondie’s “Call Me” — that became a fan favorite.

Samantha’s personal life made headlines too. After years of speculation, she came out in 2003, confirming her relationship with manager Myra Stratton, who sadly passed away in 2015. In 2022, she married her tour manager Linda Birgitte Olsen in a Eurovision-themed ceremony — a celebration of love, resilience, and sequins.
