The song was written by Swedish production trio Tim Norell, Ola Håkansson and Alexander Bard (Army Of Lovers). “Where Were You Last Night” was released as the third single from Ankies’s 1989 album of the same name. The single peaked at #13 in Sweden.

American singer, songwriter, and record producer Marvin Gaye (Marvin Pentz Gay Jr) was born. In 1982, he reached the top ten in numerous countries with "Sexual Healing", the lead single from his seventeenth studio album, "Midnight Love". Marvin Gaye was shot dead by his father on April 1st 1984.
