The song was written by The Stranglers members Hugh Cornwell, Jean-Jacques Burnel, Dave Greenfield and Jet Black. “Golden Brown”released as a second single from the band’s sixth album La Folie (1981). It was released in December 1981 with “Love 30” on the B-side. The single reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart and #3 in Ireland in 1982.
